Company history

Radunia-Containers K.Pich&Wspólnicy began its presence on the market in 1974 by establishing the Container Repair Department at the Ship Repair Yard “Radunia” S.A. The initial and main purpose of establishing this department was to meet the needs in the scope of repair, service and storage of empty containers owned or managed by the Polish Ocean Lines. Later on, it started to service Chipolbrok containers and companies such as Sea-Land, Hapag-Lloyd, ACS Goteborg, Lykes Lines, Maersk whose agents for Poland were MAG Gdynia, PZKB, C.Hartwig.

In 1988, the Container Repair Department was renamed the Container Repair and Steel Construction Plant. Based on the ongoing political and economic changes, in 1995 the plant became a subsidiary of the Radunia Ship Repair Yard, as Radunia-Containers Sp. z o.o.

In 1999, shortly after selling the land on which Radunia-Containers operated to Trefl, the Radunia Ship Repair Yard decided to sell its shares to private individuals. This is also the year from which Radunia-Containers began operating as a 100% privately owned company.

Since then, Radunia-Containers has created the possibility of using a railway siding in Gdynia in 2000, which involved loading and unloading containers directly onto/off wagons, in 2004 it opened a branch in Szczecin, and in 2015 in Gdańsk. In both of these locations, it is also possible to use a railway siding.
